Here some events for which Siena is famous in the World:
- The Palio, that takes place July 2nd and on August 16th every year. During this period you can visit some “contrade” and on the days before the main race you can watch the trials. For watching the Palio you can enter freely in the middle of Piazza del Campo, whereas the places in the tribunes or by the windows of the buildings around the square are on payment and must be reserved in advance.
- During the winter season you can enjoy a lot of differnet classical music concerts that take place in the famous Accademia Chigiana.
- In summer, on the other hand, concerts take place in different places in Siena and surroundings, like the abbey of San Galgano, an incredible and fascinating place.
